students are funny

so yesterday in a writing class kids were supposed to write a journal entry about what they did the day before. i told them that they could lie, and write anything that they wanted as long as it was in english. don't blame me for the grammar as it was my first day with this kid.

What do you think if you paintball shooting with George Bush? You think you would lose? WRONG!
I went a play town with my uncle George Bush. He took me to paintball shooting. He told me he was very good at paintball shooting. I was so scared but I was wrong.
Uncle George Bush was crazy. He don't know how to use gun! I shoot a lot of time and he die.
I'm so sad that my Uncle died.

Now 'John' (aka Mr. 7) felt the need to tell me that he DIDN'T like George Bush and if he DID kill him with a paintball gun he wouldn't be sad. He just thought it was the right thing to write.

i'm back baby

so i'm back but it definitely wasn't easy. due to severe thunderstorms in detroit i was forced to take a later plane on a different airline, leaving me with 12 hours to kill at Pearson. it was awful to say the least but thankfully i met some cool people (see picture below) who helped keep me from wanting to kill every person i saw. the new trip meant flying to alaska and then to hong kong finishing in seoul. all in all i was travelling for about 40 hours. if asked from now on i will always say the DESTINATION is way more enjoyable than the journey.

left to right: Micheal, Jenny, Mike. Michael was trying to get to his sister who was staying in Japan and then heading home to Taiwan. Mike was also trying to get to Taiwan. Airports aren't the greatest places to hang out with the exception of the new one in hong kong. pretty impressive i must say. i have heard that it's the largest enclosed structure in the world.

the trip home was good. i didn't see as many people as last year, it's so hard getting around but it was nice to see the people that i did. BIG thanks to russ for letting me (as if he had a choice) stay at his place for a whole week.
there's the handsome guy right there.

my meg.
blake and i.
kincardine boardwalk.
lighthouse
harbour.
lila and i in the tdot.

i think if it weren't for the horrible jet lag i experience going home i would go more often. over a week of recovery time is LAME. i didn't even have it when i got back to korea. ah well.

see you next year.
