Osaka Day 2
I'm writing this a day late because I ended up not feeling so swell at the end of the night. Ah well. Maybe too much sushi.
I got up and headed to the subway station. I got there to realise that I know nothing about the train station. It basically combines two things that I'm terrible at: technology and direction. Luckily the universe did me a solid and sent a nice Aussie gentleman to show me what to do. Success! I headed to Osaka Museum of History where I saw two exhibits! One of about Osaka and was quite cool. There was a floor dedicated to "The Golden Age of Osaka: 1965". There were life sized statues of people doing regular things. I liked that you could see the traditional clothes on the older generation but the younger started to dress more like the West. I also saw Gold of The Ukraine which was awesome and full of bling.
After that I went to Osaka Castle and got rained on. At this point I was so cold and hungry I really didn't take it in like I should. After scarfing some yummy tofu noodle soup I went back and enjoyed the scenery while writing some postcards.
After this I headed to what I think is the best thing that Osaka has to offer: The Aquarium!!!! I know I'm biased as I love aquariums but this one was the bomb. Whale sharks, huge rays (I mean mouth gapingly huge), penguins, dolphins, turtles, jellyfish all looked happy and well cared for.
After coming off of my aquarium high I started to feel exhausted to I headed back to my room for some RnR and watched sumo on tv. Why do wrestlers throw salt on themselves? Hmm.
