killing (time) in the name of (boredom)

so here i am.. it's another wednesday.. i finished teaching almost an hour ago and i'm stuck here until 10:20.. i teach only 3 boys today... they're all very cute.. one specifically is almost too cute.. you know the type? the ones you want to shower with cnady and presents.. his unbridled enthusiasm for anything silly that we do is almost too much to handle.. ANYWAYS, i want to adopt a korean baby.. or at least rent one out.. or lease to buy.. havn't really decided yet..

i sent mom a list of items that i want her to bring with her to thailand.. i have a feeling that i'm forgetting something really important... message me any ideas.. i can't bring anything big as i refuse to bring any luggage beyond my carry on.. i shouldn't need anything beyond and bathing suit and flip flops.. at least that's what i'm planning.. 10 days until i take off.. i'm excited about the trip, the chance to relax, and do some more travelling.. the thought of seeing mom is surreal.. the thought of seeing someone who knows me beyond my "korea jenny" personality is scary.. i can't fool her.. but anyways, how awesome is my mom that she's going to travel for 25 hours just to hang out with me for a week? pretty fricking awesome i would think.. i'm interested to see if i've changed at all.. i know that physically i have somewhat.. but maybe i have matured, or more likely the opposite since i've been here.. because let's face it.. teaching english in korea is pretty much socially identical to university.. at least for me it is.. it's good but maybe plays too much into my peter pan complex..

so, nothing new to report.. i'm doing more than well.. i miss everyone, and am looking forward to seeing as many of you as i can in 4 months.. seriously clear the first week of august.. and maybe the week after for recovery ;)

st.pattys

colm. he's irish, so has an excuse to be so festive?

eric and stephane.
pam with green beer at the second stop. i'm quite surprised we found it.

kate, pam, julie and colm.

alright, so i just got off the phone with mr. christopher kocela and after hearing about his wonderful (well how wonderful could it be without me?) st. pattys day in dublin thought i should let you all know what i was up to for it. st. pattys day is pretty much the day i count down to each year.. more so than my birthday or christmas. i started my day with some irish punk music to get pumped. i taught, and gave prizes and presents to all the kids who wore green. after that we went on a pub crawl which wasn't planned out.. more of a, "we have to go into the first bar that we see" rule.. since it's not a big deal here i didn't have to deal with any lines.. anyways, it was a good, late night. actually it was like any saturday night, but in green.

i was the photographer this night so there are none of me.. be assured i was wearing green and having fun.

a korean love affair

so i went to the bank today, to get a new card. when i came in the banker that i normally deal with got really excited saying that it had been so long since he had seen me. normally when i go in he asks me about music (i don't think i'm even able to walk without my ipod anymore.. my centre of gravity might be thrown) .. so.. after he gives me my card, he goes into his desk and pulls out a rage against the machine tape.. and says, "this is my present for you jennifer, i've been waiting for you to come in" (he only knows me by my legal name since he deals with my documents) so basically awwwww... i'm going to marry him... but first make him a mixed tape...

we look like jackasses here.. but it was fun.. we got to go ice skating!! i havn't gone in so long.. colm in the middle had never done it before... soooooooo fricking hilarious
i think this one is from a different amusement park.. riding the sky bike thingys..

this weekend was good too.. on friday night i went to watch marla sing.. she did fantabulous... korean neil young was there too... all in all a good night...
i was busy running errands all saturday and then headed out to hang out with some people.. we went to a bar, and a singing room (i don't care what you say, karaoke is fun!) .. i spent today watching movies and am now about to crash..

good times

ok, so i've been a little busy. on wednesday it was korean independence day. as we left the ktx station in pusan we saw a bunch of people cheering, and drumming.. so we stopped and were given flags and we cheered along.. after that we did the usual pusan things that you all know about...

i spent the weekend with some new people.. most work for my company but at a different branch.. i like them, they remind me of my friends back in canada.. on friday night i went to kates house, and we played some games.. hung out.. then on saturday we went to suseong park.. there's a manmade lake near my place and a park with rides.. it was good times.. and awesome because it was almost all empty.. yesterday (sunday) we went to ubong tower land.. which is another much bigger amusement park.. i had maybe the best time i've ever had in daegu.. i rode rollercoasters until i wanted to puke.. went ice skating.. rode cable cars.. ate cotton candy.. got my face painted (see above pic).. we also went on this ride which may be the most unsafe ride i've ever seen.. you're not strapped in.. you just have to hold on while they try to whip you off... my shoulders are killing me.. i'm bruised.. ice skating was hilarious too.. i havn't been for awhile but managed alright... colm, an irish dude that was with us had never been.. he was so funny.. and all these tiny kids were whipping by him.. but he was a trooper..

after all that we went for italian.. then to an arcade..

great time!! there are tons and tons of pics but not on my camera.. whenever i get a hold of them i'll post them...

love you

jen

sorry for the lack of puncuation..
