more pictures

Here are some more pictures stolen off of Mike's camera. All Thailand:

Pool in Bangkok.
View from a ride in a tuk-tuk (Bangkok)

Random elephant on the street in Bangkok.

Temple on Koh Samui. The rain stopped for about 5 minutes and we rushed out.

Same temple. The rain was half-way up the cab-driver's car. We felt really bad because we begged her to take us, she didn't want to and then her car flooded!

Still in Koh Samui.

Our hotel room.

Thai boxing!
This little dude was tough!

A random Buddha spotted from the ferry ride: Surat Thani to Samui.

The sunset on Phuket.

Mike and a monkey!

Me and a monkey. He didn't like me.

We went to a snake show. This is a python wrapped around our legs.

Kiss it Jimmy! Yes that's a king cobra!

Elephant trekking? Not so much but everyone has to do it in Thailand.

Hmm so it's been a little while since I've blogged. You would think that would mean I have a lot to say. Not so much. I did go to Thailand for 2 weeks and it was pretty great (photos below). Thailand consisted of lots of eating and relaxing, though not as much on the beach as we had hoped because of rain. We went elephant trekking, saw some monkeys and snakes, ate A LOT of deliciousness, hung out on some beaches, took a long time to get here and there. We spent most of our time in 3 places:

Phuket: This is where I met Mike. We spent 4 or 5 days here. Despite being a tourist trap I loved it. There were very cheap massages, good food, we had a really nice hotel for cheap and the beach was gorgeous. Our first day we hired a cab to take us all around which was definitely worth it. We did most of our tourist stuff here. Looking back on the trip I wish we had spent more time here. In anycase... next we headed to:

Koh Lanta: On referral from a friend we went here. I have nothing against the island itself, but it is WAY less built up if that's what you're in for. I would have been more into it if the weather was better and the beach less rocky. However, our hotel had some cool people staying at it and the bar was very cozy and relaxing. We only spent 2 nights here.

Koh Samui: So we thought we could fly from Krabi to Samui, turns out we couldn't so we had to drive/ferry. All in all it took around 12 hours . I was in Samui last year with Mom and though the weather was really hot then, this time it was rainy. I didn't get to beach it once there though I still had a good time. Our hotel rocked and was in a great location. The rain eventually got to us and we flew to Bangkok for 3 nights.

Bangkok: Really fun as always. Highlight was an amazing night bazaar with great shopping and the best beer garden I've ever seen. We also walked around a fair bit and saw some interesting food at the stalls and an elephant on the street.

Aside from my lack of money because of it, it was fantastic. I actually have a hard time believing I've been back and working for 2 weeks already. I guess it's not so hard to get into the swing of things here.

So here are some pics from the trip. Mike actually has more and better ones but I haven't stolen them yet.

Sawadee-ka ronald.
I think this is from the ferry ride, Surat Tani to Samui.

This was on Koh lanta during a somewhat uncomfortable walk down the beach.

Our best beach day in Phuket.

An elephant!
